The West Forsyth Jazz Band performed in the Music Under the Stars concert series at Shallowford Square. Band director, Chris Garmon (left), also accompanied on the saxophone during several of the songs.

Sweet Music

The sound of foot-tapping jazz music drifted through Shallowford Square yesterday evening, as the West Forsyth Jazz Band put on a dynamite performance in Lewisville’s first Music Under the Stars concert of the season.

I found it remarkable that these high schoolers were performing at such a high musical level. Enthusiastically directed by Chris Garmon, a music teacher at West Forsyth, the band capably performed one nicely done song after another. What a talented group of young men and one lovely lady.
