Important Order Information
Photo Paper Info
PAPER TYPES
For most color orders, photos will be printed on Luster photo paper. On occasion, Metallic photo paper will also be offered for color images, or can be offered upon request. Black-and-white orders are printed on professional quality black-and-white paper.
- Luster prints use Fujicolor Crystal Archive Professional Paper Super Type PD, which is Fujifilms’ longest lasting paper yet, and which yields accurate, vibrant colors with a “true-to-life” look. Luster paper has a slightly textured finish that some call “pebbled,” that combines the best of glossy (a little sheen to give the colors some “punch”) and matte (resists and hides fingerprints, with little or no glare).
- Metallic prints are printed on Kodak Endura paper. Metallic Endura has a very glossy finish and a metallic appearance. Images printed on Metallic paper have rich, vibrant colors that have a striking, almost three-dimensional appearance on an ultra bright background. Compared to the Luster finish, images printed on Metallic paper exhibit greater sharpness, brightness and color saturation. The image appears as though it is printed on metal, similar to the back side of aluminum foil. While images tend to really “pop” when they are printed on metallic paper, bright areas in an image have a tendency to be “blown out” and over-highlighted when printed on metallic paper. Please keep these tendencies in mind when evaluating whether particular images are good candidates for metallic paper.
- Black-and-white prints are printed on Red River Polar Matte Paper, with an acid-free ultra-smooth, soft white matte surface that’s a little heavier than most papers (60 lb.), which makes it especially good for portraits. Combined with the use of Epson Ultrachrome K3 inks, these black-and-white prints yield an estimated print life of 50+ years, based on tests conducted at the Image Permanence Institute at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
PRINT LONGEVITY FACTORS
Keep in mind that factors affecting the longevity of both color and black-and-white prints (i.e., sun exposure, mat and glass protection, protective spray coatings, humidity, pollution and the like) will be at play differently in each user’s home, work or gallery.

Print Quality
QUALITY DETAILS
All photos displayed online have received minimal enhancing and retouching in order to place them online as quickly as possible.
Color Prints: Once a color photo order is placed, Deb individually color corrects, enhances and crops (as needed) each purchased image, with the attentive eye of an artist. Where possible, Deb also removes distracting elements/objects from photos. The finalized color image files are then uploaded to Deb’s photo lab service, which utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and calibration procedures. Your color prints will be shipped directly to you from the PHOTO LAB in a timely manner.
Black-and-White Prints: Once a black-and-white photo order is placed, Deb will create a professional quality black-and-white print from the original color image. Depending on the particular image and the subject matter, Deb strives to bring out each image’s highest potential, whether through an emphasis on its rich black-and-white tones or its subtle qualities. As with color prints, Deb also removes any distracting elements/objects from black-and-white prints, and will optimally crop each image for the selected paper size. Deb personally customizes and prints each black-and-white print ON PREMISES.
FINISHING TOUCH
Deb adds her distinctive signature, copyright symbol and the year to the bottom of each color or black-and-white print (except color wallet-size prints) in a discreet manner.

Cropping Information
UNDERSTANDING ASPECT RATIO
The relationship of the length and width of a print is called the aspect ratio. Most cameras produce images with a 2:3 aspect ratio — which, for example, fits perfectly for 4×6 and 8×12 prints, and means that the entire image can be printed without requiring cropping.
Other print sizes, however, such as 5×7 and 8×10, do NOT have a 2:3 aspect ratio. What that means for these particular print sizes is that the LENGTH of the image will be shortened some on the print, usually cropping off a portion along each END of the length of the print.
In summary, whenever important subject matter spans the entire length of the image, a portion of the subject would be cropped off when being printed as a 5×7 or an 8×10 print, or any size print which does not have a 2:3 aspect ratio.
CHOOSING YOUR PRINT SIZE(S)
When selecting your print size(s) from a gallery price list, the sizes which require cropping will be denoted by the phrase, “some cropping required,” in the item descriptions. If the subject matter runs the entire length of the image, you may want to choose print size(s) that will not result in cutting off the subject on the long edges of the print(s).

Shipping Information
SHIPPING COSTS
Shipping costs are based on multiple factors:
- Shipping method chosen
- Size and number of prints and/or photo products ordered
- Packaging appropriate for guarding against potential shipping damage
- Destination location (when shipping via FedEx)
During the shopping cart process — after the order is entered and the shipping method has been chosen — the shipping costs will be calculated and provided prior to the final order submission. You will have an opportunity to change the shipping method prior to the final order submission. Of course, orders are final after that point and cannot be changed.
SHIPPING OPTIONS
Choose from four shipping options:
- USPS First Class Mail (Allow 5 to 10 business days)
- USPS Priority Mail (Allow 4 to 5 business days)
- FedEx 2nd Business Day (Allow 3 business days. NOTE: Does not ship to P.O. Boxes.)
- FedEx Next Business Day (Allow 2 business days. NOTE: Does not ship to P.O. Boxes.)
FILE PREPARATION TIME
Deb will finalize your images and upload the files to her professional photo lab as quickly as possible. In most cases, Deb will upload your images to the lab within 24 hours of receiving your order. Please be aware that whenever an order involves multiple images, the time required to prepare and upload the files to the lab may be extended, depending on the number of images ordered. Once Deb has uploaded the files to the lab, your order will be placed next in line to be printed and shipped.
EXPRESS SHIPMENTS / SHIPPING TIMES
Please keep in mind that shipping times do NOT include the time required by Deb to retouch and prepare your digital image(s) for printing, nor does the shipping time include the production time at the photo lab.
In addition, please note that most orders ship from California, which is also a factor in determining how soon your order may arrive.
If you have a special express shipment that you want to have turned around quickly, please alert Deb by email. Deb cannot make any special promises, but she will bring this to the lab’s attention and have them move it through the work queue as quickly as possible.
MULTIPLE SHIPMENTS
If you have an order that mixes large and small prints, or prints and other types of photo products (for example, mugs, magnets or note cards), they may likely be sent in multiple shipments from multiple locations.
Selecting Luster and Metallic prints in a single color print order may also split the order into multiple shipments. Because black-and-white photos are custom-printed by Deb herself, they will always be shipped separately from all other photo products that may have been ordered at the same time.
During the order notification process, you will be reminded that some orders may be shipped from multiple locations. Please be aware that it may appear that you’re receiving conflicting notices, and they may look like they’re “overlapped.”
