Chicken Stew – and Music – for the Soul

A little chicken stew and the soul-soothing acoustics of singer/songwriter, Jim Cole, were ingredients to a very enjoyable afternoon at Shallowford Square this past Saturday. The warm-up band, Waiting on Wings, also added their own unique flavor for praise and worship.
Against the backdrop of rich music in the Square, families tossed footballs. Children romped in the playground area. Parents attended to their infants and toddlers with obvious pride and joy. Couples, young and old, sat affectionately close to each other. Winsome teenagers cavorted and conversed. And a golden afternoon light spread across the Square as if bestowing a visual blessing on each unique life.
This delightful event was hosted by radio station WBFJ and sponsored by Lewisville Drug Company and six area churches. To see photos of the concert and the wonderful audience, please visit the Jim Cole / WBFJ Concert Gallery.
A Swingin’ Time

The Town of Lewisville, North Carolina sponsored its second Music Under the Stars concert for the year this past Saturday. The Andrew Thielen Big Band, based in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, rolled into town and brought the friendly crowd at Shallowford Square one memorable song after another. Children and adults gathered throughout the evening to dance to the mix of lively and romantic tunes. And let me tell you, the leader of the band, Andrew Thielen, can sure put a hurtin’ on those drums!
