Repairing Damaged Photographs

Do you have some old family photos in need of repair? Many damaged, discolored or faded photographs can be digitally restored, even photos which may seem beyond repair. If you have some cherished photos that you’d like to bring back to life for all to enjoy — or to give as gifts — consider allowing me to expertly restore them for you on professional photographic paper.

Photograph of Deb Phillips' grandmother, Ollie JenningsTo see SAMPLES of some of my restored photos, please take a look at my article on Lewisville Roller Mills (my family’s story). Many of the older photos in that article required significant retouching in order to bring them to a presentable state.

The old photos of my grandmother were among the more challenging of the photos — with tears, creases, stains and some missing portions of the images.

While some of the restored photos are not completely flawless, they’ve nevertheless been greatly improved from the state in which I found them. (Depending on the degree of degradation, for some photos, achieving “perfection” would be time- and cost-prohibitive.)

I’m so glad I took the time to restore those old family photos. Now, instead of them remaining stored away in a box, they’ve been brought back to life, so to speak, for all to cherish and enjoy.

I don't try to overintellectualize my concepts of people. In fact, the ideas I have, if you talk about them, they seem extremely corny and it's only in their execution that people can enjoy them .... It's something I've learned to trust: The stupider it is, the better it looks. —Annie Leibovitz
